The Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), the leading industry association for the blockchain technology ecosystem, is delighted to announce its partnership with The Business of Blockchain with Jane King, a show produced by Jane King and Denise de Murcie designed to educate, entertain, and inform viewers about the latest developments in the blockchain industry.
Recorded at Nasdaq’s MarketSite studio in New York City’s Times Square, the show features an ongoing series of interviews with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and academics; most recently it has featured Michael Casey, MIT Sloan Senior Lecturer and Senior Advisor to the MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative; Sandra Ro, CEO of the GBBC; and Alex Mashinsky, venture capitalist and inventor of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP).
The Global Blockchain Business Council will provide content curation and share interviews across various platforms.
The producers of The Business of Blockchain will also gain access to insight from the GBBC’s network – including board members, country ambassadors, blockchain experts, and industry leaders, who will be available for interviews in the show’s upcoming episodes.
All videos will be verified by both parties and anchored to the Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains and potentially other blockchains by GBBC member company Soramitsu. In order to do this, Soramitsu will hash the verified videos and link the hash function to a transaction on the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains. Linking the videos’ hash functions to transactions on the blockchains will provide a digital fingerprint of the videos, allowing viewers to verify the creators and owners of the videos and see that the authentic content was anchored to the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains by the video’s creators and owners.

Sandra Ro, CEO, Global Blockchain Business Council said:
“In an era of disinformation and misinformation, utilizing technology to combat the manipulation and misuse of content is vital. This partnership brings together the blockchain community to not only educate on the latest developments in the ecosystem, but also demonstrate how the technology can be used to credential content and uphold media integrity.”
Jane King, entrepreneur, journalist, producer and host of the show said:
“This is very exciting, to tell the story of the business of blockchain. With the Global Blockchain Business Council partnership, we can both use the technology and bring thought leaders who are working in this revolutionary technology to the public in our show”.
Denise de Murcie, journalist and executive producer of the show said:
“The blockchain story is truly fascinating. Technologists are adding a ‘trust layer’ to the Internet, facilitating a peer-to-peer, disintermediated global economy and the use of digital currencies and digital identities, among numerous other new applications. It’s clear the Internet will, once again, change the way many people around the world live and work. The public needs to know what the technologists are building.”
Makoto Takemiya, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Soramitsu said:
“Copying and modifying intellectual property in the digital realm has become trivially easy, so new solutions are needed to establish the veracity of the provenance of content. Blockchain provides the tools to implement a protocol where digital content can be verified precisely. This can be used to prove that content was registered by a specific party at a specific point in time.”
