Fingerprint Cards Extends Security for Fingerprint Sensors

Fingerprint Cards (FPC) introduces a novel solution FPCLiveTouch™ that further improves security for fingerprint sensors by being capable of identifying spoofs. Such spoofs are sometimes referred to as fake fingers. This brings security to a new level without requiring additional hardware and without impact on verification time. The new solution is compatible with all released touch fingerprint sensors in FPC’s product portfolio.

Driven by increased demand for secure mobile payments, FPC extends its technology leadership by introducing FPCLiveTouch™, a new solution that brings the security of its fingerprint sensors to a new level. By taking advantage of the industry leading image quality of FPC’s fingerprint sensors, FPCLiveTouch™ increases the security by being able to detect spoofs, and rejecting the use of such spoofs when verifying the user. This is achieved without requiring additional hardware and without impact on verification time, enabling FPC’s customers to bring forward further improved secure and convenient user verification.

FPCLiveTouch™ is commercially released in the first quarter of 2016 and deliveries to lead customers have started, enabling FPC’s customers to progressively introduce FPCLiveTouch™ in their products, further improving the security of their offering.
