Siemens Financial Services Celebrates Success of its first ‘Game of Agility’ Broker Event

Siemens Financial Services (SFS) has hosted its first panel discussion event for its brokers and block discounting customers.

Held at the Crystal on Royal Victoria Dock on 12‘th January, the event enabled attendees to share views on a range of issues. After an introductory overview of SFS, the 45 delegates participated in three hosted panel discussions on the topics of digitalization, the issue of Brexit and enhancing collaboration within the industry.

Representatives from the Leasing Foundation and The Finance & Leasing Association also attended.

Organisers Emma Thomas, Head of Sales – Block and Brokers, Siemens Financial Services and Amanda Childs, Head of Business & Customer Excellence, Siemens Financial Services were particularly pleased with the diversity of views expressed.

Emma said: “We wanted to create an informal and intimate environment where participants could be free to express their views. That’s exactly what we achieved, with people engaged in vigorous debate.”

Amanda adds: “We had delegates from a range of backgrounds. As well as brokers, we had funders, trade associations and representatives from Siemens. This gave us a really diverse discussion and a whole range of opinions.”

The event highlighted a willingness of organisations to work together and there are plans for a further event in the future.

We are keen to get the feedback of our attendees, so that they might suggest the focus of subsequent events”, said Emma. “In the meantime we identified a number of issues that the industry is keen to collaborate on, such as how the asset finance sector can adapt to in the future world. We are hopeful that we’ve prompted a number of ongoing discussions.

Geraldine Scher, Director, Clockwork Capital, commented: “It was very refreshing to be part of a small group and to easily interact with such an interesting selection of panelists. The unique setting and opportunity to meet colleagues all added to what was a very informative, thought-provoking and enjoyable afternoon.

Richard Marshall, Operations Director, Bibby Leasing Ltd, said: “Hopefully it can get the ball rolling in terms of collaboration. I think if nothing else it has created an awareness of the importance in discussing these issues as an industry.”
