Manchester-based tech start-up, VST Enterprises, has announced its revolutionary VCode app is now available to download on smart phones and tablets.
Designed and developed by entrepreneurial partners, Louis-James Davis and Andy Giblin, the secure identifier designed for traceability and fraud prevention also has broad applications for impulse purchasing, banking, loyalty schemes and ticketing.
Louis-James Davis, CEO of VST Enterprises, explains: “VCode has been years in development and is a significant advancement in unique identifying technology.
“We’ve already experienced extremely positive feedback from several blue chip companies, including KPMG, Santander, Barclaycard, Microsoft, Ogilvy and Mather and the BBC, who all recognise the potential of the technology, and have recently won the Harvey Nash Tech Start-Up of the Year award.”
The VCode app is compatible with all iOS and Android smart phones and tablets and, unlike traditional bar or QR Codes, VCode can be scanned from any screened media, from distances of up to 100m and virtually any angle – furthermore, each code is completely unique to eliminate the problem of mainstream counterfeiting.
Davis concludes: “This app is just the first phase in the development of VCode and we have received significant backing from the Government and private sector investors to ensure this technology reaches its full global potential.
“VCode in the future will provide all the answers for consumers; from tracking the lifecycle of food, to speeding up online purchasing and even increasing the security of banking – all you will have to do is ‘VCode it’.”
